Starting from Richard Strauss' residence in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Villa Strauss, the tour continues over the Kramer Plateau to the ruins of Werdenfels Castle and ends at Pflegersee. The trumpeter Matthew Sadler, a member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, already impressed with his musical performances in the Partnachklamm in 2018. The group will be accompanied by our experienced guide Alois Lösl.

The ride from Pflegersee back to Villa Strauss is included.

Alois LöslWhen you take a hike with Alois Lösl, you are in good hands. The experienced, state-certified mountain guide and educated pedagogue was for many years as a mountain fighter officer instructor and course leader at the training of army mountain guides in Mittenwald. In addition to the mountains, his passion is music. Alois Lösl appreciates traditional alpine folk music and plays the Styrian harmonica and the flugelhorn.

Matthew Sadlerwas born in London in 1981. He studied history at University College London before moving to Germany in 2003 to study trumpet with Prof. Hannes Läubin in Munich (on a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service) and Jeroen Berwaerts in Hanover; other influential influences came from Marco Blaauw, Håkan Hardenberger and Christopher Dicken. He graduated from the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic and has been a member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the LUCERNE FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA since 2012.
